The Place
The Rooms B&B are four spacious double bedrooms and three generously sized apartments. If you choose a bedroom, you can still come and go as you please, just like an apartment – owner Eva isn’t on site all the time, so she gives guests a key.
The style here is laid-back – choose from Inspiration, Contemplation, Relaxation or Imagination themes. Though this may sound cliché, but the rooms are comfortable and aptly suited to the names. The four bedrooms are in the main pension and the apartments are in seperate buildings nearby. In some rooms, plain walls are contrasted with colourful fabrics and artwork; in others, warm beige and peach walls are complemented by deep purples and browns.
It’s worth choosing the bedrooms just for the breakfast, with home-made granola and jams – apricots with rum, cinnamon and cardamom; or strawberry with lavender. It’s served on the Indonesian teak table downstairs, overlooking the terrace and garden, with handmade crockery from Israel, cutlery from India and tea cups from Japan.
The three apartments are a short walk, and are equally well decorated with pretty details and lots of space. They’re self-catering and have well-appointed kitchens. The closest underground station is just a three-minute walk away, plus there’s a Chinese spa nearby and plenty of riverside restaurants along the Danube, some with floating terraces – ask Eva for advice on local eateries.
