The Place
Sitting in the corner of Kew Green, amidst bookshops and cafes, the location of this Inn, for London, is great. A popular pub with 31 rooms, Coach and Horses is a welcoming hub for the local community as well as international guests.
Overflowing snack baskets greet you in the boutique rooms whose windows look across Kew Green or the garden. The rooms are spacious and follow a common decorative formula rather than strike out for their own identity. In tribute to local Kew Gardens, a floral theme runs through the public spaces with botanical patterns on cushions, tapestries and illustrations on most surfaces.
We especially enjoyed the green patio where food is also served. The menu is mostly a refreshing change to the run-of-the-mill pub food, relying on seasonal British produce. An extensive drinks list includes herbaceous themed cocktails. The pub is popular for weddings and sports fans who come to watch big games on a choice of screens, but the team ensure that noise levels are reasonable.
Coach & Horses is a Young’s Pub, but overall it’s got individuality and style, which is why we welcome it to the website.
Check out its sister hotels: Pheasant Inn in Hungerford, and The Alma in Wandsworth.
