The Place
Tucked away in the heart of London’s literary district, yards from The Charles Dickens Museum and the tranquil out-door green space of Grey’s Inn Fields, lies Doughty Street, one of the most picturesque Georgian streets in London. From the design team responsible for the Rockwell, these 11 luxury, serviced apartments in a Grade II listed building offer spacious comfort and value for money. While other serviced apartments tend to have stale, corporate decoration, No.5 Doughty street has the tasteful interior design of a modern boutique hotel, with all the contemporary trimmings, while remaining faithful to the period architecture of the building.
A range of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments is on offer. Each has a fully equipped kitchen, a stylish shower room, free wireless broadband, flat screen television, direct dial telephone, iPod dock and top-quality linen. Due to the building’s listed status, a lift could not be fitted, but the stairs up to the 5th floor apartment are well lit with a large airy skylight. Once inside this top floor apartment, your mood will be lifted by the great view down the Georgian street below. Room service is limited to a linen change and clean once a week (a tip can be given to the staff for extra attendance). The location, mid-way between the West End and The City and wealth of nearby sights and restaurants, could hardly be better.
