The Place
A firm favourite with our audience, this Georgian stone house near Llandrillo is decorated with elegant flair, period antiques and fine paintings, creating a serene ambience. Tyddyn Llan is very much a home, despite the number of guests it can accommodate. There is a major extension to the building, cleverly complementary to the original, using slate, stone and cast-iron.
One of our reporters writes: ‘No intrusive reception desk; spacious sitting rooms furnished with style; dining room shows great flair; bedrooms well-equipped with original pieces of furniture; small but modern and very pleasing bathrooms; peaceful, comfortable stay, with warm atmosphere provided by attentive hosts’.
Fiona Duncan revisited in 2025 and much appreciated new chef Gareth Stevenson’s cooking – the noisette poached brill on the ‘Tyddyn Llan Ten’ dinner menu was a particular favourite. She met guests who had travelled considerable distances to eat here – it’s certainly a well-known foodie haven.
The restaurant and sitting rooms have recently been refurbished to reflect the new ownership – the elegant wooden furniture and forest-green walls give the space a light, modern feel.
