The Place
Former cookery presenter, Caron Cooper presides over a small corner of France in the Wiltshire countryside. She has decorated Fosse Farmhouse with some style, bringing together English vintage and French brocante. Antiques, including many French pieces, fill the house and the adjoining cottages.
Since our last visit Caron has added two more self catered cottages, The Dovecote and The Garden House – making three along with the converted Stables. All follow the style of the main building and can be hired individually or as a group.
Some more recent renovations mean the bedrooms in the main house feel homely and Caron has added some charming detail to each – with the bathrooms being finished to a high standard.
While Fosse Farmhouse claims it is only a bed and breakfast, two and three course dinners are available if booked in advance. Caron’s food blends French with English influences. You might get rack of lamb with a mint and port wine sauce or chicken basquaise; dessert might be sticky toffee pudding or crème brulée.
