The Place
An English couple report that they have been back to this converted farmhouse three times – which speaks for itself. You approach Les Alisiers along a narrow, steeply winding road to get a wonderful surprise on arrival. The picturesque building with an Alpine feel has a splendid setting and great views to the village below and across a wooded valley to the Vosges hills.
Food, in the hands of chef Marcel Lanthermann, is the strong card, with a sophisticated set menu centred on local ingredients and dishes. Michelin awards a Bib Gourmand for good food at moderate prices. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the dining room exploit the view: try to get the table in the pole position to enjoy this to the full. Most rooms are simple, comfortably rustic and spotlessly clean, four are smaller. The five newly created design rooms are the best and most comfortable. The Degouys are proud of what they do and go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. Staff are eager to please and prices are very fair.
If you like a relaxed, family atmosphere, then Les Alisiers is for you. A member of the Hotels au Naturel Group, which believes in respecting the environment and using local ingredients.
