The Place
This picturesque hostellerie, cleverly converted from a 15thC presbytery close to the chateau, is in keeping with the delightful, and very quiet, medieval village around it: old stone walls, quiet rustic rooms and terraced gardens. In the beamed, picture-windowed restaurant, wholesome Burgundian dishes are the order of the day. ‘Very good value’, says a recent report. Another enthusiastic reader tells us that they felt relaxed and at ease as soon as they walked through the door on a cold, snowy day.
‘Warm and welcoming…small, brick-walled reception/bar, warming log fires and a comfortable seating area. In the dining room I ate a Charolais steak good enough to kill for. Our large family room was attractively decorated and overlooked the chateau. It was clean and the bathroom was perfectly adequate’.
Another reader endorses these comments. ‘A delightful hotel. The surrounding village is most picturesque, and there are lovely views over the plain from its hilly vantage point. The staff were helpful and the accommodation comfortable. The food was delicious – perhaps the best meal of our trip.’ Please note that the hotel is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, except in July and August.
