The Place
After 200 years or so as close neighbours of the Chåteau de Chenonceau, the Jeudi family knows a thing or two about receiving visitors. The popularity of this 18thC coaching inn has increased (the chåteaux of Amboise, Chambord and Chaumont are all close by), it has absorbed several other buildings, expanded sideways and even across to the other side of the road. A pair of dining rooms, one an elegant period room and the other a more relaxed area, gives you a chance to ring the changes and, if traveling with children, to lengthen their leashes a little. Be warned, though, the food tends to be pricey. Several of the generally light, attractive bedrooms are well set up as family rooms. Overall, an amiable spot.
