We were alerted to this ‘absolutely delightful’ hotel by a reader. ‘It’s just one of those things’ he comments. ‘The owners have an intimate understanding of how to create an attractive, welcoming atmosphere.’ Erbalunga is a postcard-pretty fishing village and artists’ colony and the hotel is a 19th century mansion, restored with care and flair by local couple Joelle and Jean-Paul Pieri.
The grounds are full of magnificent palm trees, there are shady places to sit and take breakfast or tea, and a heated pool. The air conditioned apartments, with kitchenettes and satellite TV, make an excellent base, and the charming hosts will tell guests about the best places to dine, and sights off the beaten track. There are two specially adapted rooms for disabled guests. More reports would be welcome.
