The Place
15 minutes from the outskirts of Paris by car, this makes sense for those seeking the tranquillity of the countryside with the bustle of the city not too far away. Owned by the same family, the Cazaudehores, for three generations, Cazaudehore la Forestiere is fiercely proud of its heritage and maintains the secrets of its reputation and success have been passed down from father to son.
In the restaurant, the head chef Gregory Balland uses his experience to create seasonal menus based around ingredients from South-West France – from where the Cazaudehore family is originally. It is a popular place for locals and guests alike seeking contemporary dishes full of flavour.
The place is decorated in a mixture of deep colours and heavily patterned furniture with lighter, plainer walls or accessories. Overall the effect works beautifully, as if city and countryside have merged under a single roof.
Bedrooms are grand and look out to the woods and parkland. Many have terraces or balconies to enjoy these views. Each room is decorated in contemporary, lively colours and there are some unique wallpaper designs. Statement bed covers and cushions give a smart, contemporary French feel, whilst maintaining some homely comfort. Visitors say that the rooms are pricey but classy. Definitely a place for those seeking high-end comfort, style and food at prices to match.
