The Place
Everything about the Hotel Danemark, on Paris’s rue Vavin, is deliberately stylish: the triple-arched, electric blue frontage, the striking modern art, the smart reception area and sitting room with attractive contemporary furniture, wall and table lights. In the past we complained that bedrooms were less impressive than the ground floor, but the hands-on owner, Jean Nurit, constantly strives to keep his establishment in tip-top shape, and has recently improved them greatly with warmer curtains and bedcovers, and completely refurbished rooms on the top floor. Each floor has its own pleasing colour scheme.
