The Place
This hotel’s best feature is its situation in a secluded little courtyard, planted with trees and flowers, and set back from rue de Passy and its traffic noise, but still conveniently close to the shops and restaurants in the liveliest part of this district. The old shuttered façade would be attractive but for the glass-encased spiral staircases which have been tacked on to it. These lead to modern bedrooms (a lift serves some too), all faintly soulless, but airy and bright with white rough-cast walls and painted wooden furniture. On the ground floor there’s a place to sit within the reception area and a breakfast room. Recent reports have been complimentary, particularly about the courteous and helpful staff.
