The Place
One of the most comfortable and spacious B&Bs you’ll come across in Southern France, run by the friendly chef, Philippe Monti, of the nearby Crillon le Brave. He therefore brings a professional touch to their chambres d’hôte operation. The set-piece is the Provençal style three-room suite, the bedroom almost big enough to dwarf its king-sized double bed framed by an elegant metal-work tester. Fabrics throughout are attractive and abundant, colour-washed walls maybe a little dated, but arresting and imaginative. Even the smaller two rooms on the top floor, up under the eaves, are more than adequately spacious. In summer guests hang out and eat on a large shady terrace or by the swimming pool. Take a look at the 100-year-old replica of a Moorish noria, a well incorporating a donkey-powered water-raising mechanism. Located in a peaceful, straggling village.
