The Place
This was the first proper hotel in a friendly little village near a splendid beach, and has been a well-kept secret until recently. It is still one of the best hotels on the island, not only for its attractive location – on a rocky cape just outside the village, with dazzling sea views and sunsets – but for its high standards of design and excellent facilities. Built in six tiers, the hotel is unobtrusive and, as its grounds mature, it is becoming a green oasis, with bougainvillea, eucalyptus and cypresses softening the building’s outlines. The beach is a ten minute walk away, but there are two sea-water pools overlooking the Aegean. Service is friendly (though the staff is not numerous) and facilities are up-to-the-minute. It can be busy in summer.
