The Place
Owners Martina and Andreas have combined their love for the Umbrian countryside with beautifully simple interior design to make L’Ariete a pleasant and relaxing place to stay. They are keen to show guests the wealth of natural sights and produce the area has to offer, arranging wild asparagus forages in the spring, olive and wine picking in the late summer, or truffle hunts in the autumn and winter.
The accommodation is beautiful: neutral, light colours and fabrics combine with rustic wooden accessories to make each bedroom homely and charming. Many rooms have antique Italian furniture and open fireplaces. There are no TVs or sound systems.
The restaurant – a converted stable – serves simple Umbrian dishes. All ingredients come from L’Ariete’s own fields, or from neighbouring farms. The simple, rustic dishes can claim to be as good as those in many more pretentious places.
Come here for guaranteed respite from the stresses of the workaday world.
