The Place
If you are looking for fair prices and a quiet yet central Venice location, look no further than Locanda Fiorita: a charming red-painted villa tucked away in a quiet, little visited square off Campo Santo Stefano.
Rooms are smallish, but comfortable, full of light and recently redecorated with harmonious colours and antique or reproduction antique 18thC furniture. You will get a comfortable bed and plenty of cupboard space, but possibly a lack of shelves in some of the rooms. ‘With its beamed ceiling and large windows my room was a perfectly pleasant one in which to wake up’, comments one guest, especially when one reflects on what it cost.
Breakfast is taken at wooden tables along the wall in the reception area, or, more comfortably, in your room. This used to be a relatively simple, budget hotel, but the overall standard has risen in recent years.
