The Place
This is a well-restored, dignified, white-washed 15thC manor house – but that’s only the start. Our inspector was struck by its lovely position, with views over the nearby lake and of nearby Arcos; and by the charm of its owners, the Chef Hussein, an Egyptian, and his Andalucian wife, Francisca.
The restaurant is supplied with fresh vegetables and herbs from the Hacienda’s garden, and in summer guests can enjoy a candlelit dinner outside in the flower-filled courtyard. The public spaces are decorated in authentic Hacienda style, offering the understated good taste that we value much more than plush smartness. Bedrooms are of a similar standard, all individual, air conditioned, and with views of the lake, countryside or hills. Some of the suites offer the luxury of a king-size bed; one has a fireplace and another a private terrace.
For amusement there’s the (circular) swimming pool, riding, biking, birdwatching or walking.
