The Place
This typically Ibizan finca lies in the heart of the island, surrounded by fig and orange trees, a mere 20-minute drive from Ibiza Town and a kilometre outside the picturesque little village of Sant Carles. Gleaming, whitewashed exterior walls are clothed in bougainvillea. Inside, there are 17 rooms, all luxuriously fitted out, even with a kitchen. The design is typically ‘Ibizan minimalist’ – warm terracotta floor tiles, old wooden beams, white walls and bed linen – which exposes and emphasizes the building’s structure instead of covering it up with kitsch. The restaurant is highly regarded for its elegant, international dishes. The wine list is superb, too. There is a spa with a range of treatments and a rooftop terrace. A wonderful haven of peace and quiet on an otherwise busy holiday island.
