The Place
This old country estate lies at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains, in about 1.5 square kilometres. Mallorca’s luxuriant vegetation has taken a hold here, with an abundance of ancient olive, almond and carob trees. In the main living room, the tafona (oil mill) captivates guests with its black millstone, as does the upper mahogany gallery with its beautiful rounded arches. The congenial atmosphere extends to the bedrooms, which have wonderful old olivewood exposed beams, stone walls and antique furnture. The curtain material is multicoloured local fabric with geometric designs. Bathrooms are handsome and generously proportioned. The restaurant provides first-rate cooking, which can be enjoyed on the covered terrace, with its commanding views. The extensive grounds have two outdoor pools and two tennis courts; they’re big enough for everyone to find a peaceful spot in which to relax.
