Why we love it...

Mediterranean charm, vineyards all round

The Place

Although Binicomprat has an Algaida address, the land in which it stands is actually much closer to Montuiri, the small hilltop village on the road to Manacor. This is quite heavily forested country, but the estate has its own vineyards, which produce 30,000 bottles of wine a year. Gabriel Moragues takes pride in showing guests his wine cellars and likes to offer a sample bottle; few leave for home without at least one in their suitcase.
Rooms and apartments have a simple, Mediterranean charm. The dominant colour is white; windows are draped in white voile; the bedspreads are in subdued natural colours; the deeper colours of pine beams and window frames make a pleasing contrast.
There’s a beautiful dining room in which dinner (Mallorcan dishes) is available on request. A large, fully equipped room is available for meetings and conferences, but does not spoil atmosphere. Take a look at the estate’s simple old chapel, now no longer used for worship, but a reminder of bygone days when this type of community offered its occupants everything on the spot, for this life and the next.
