The Place
Ca’s Concos is a sleepy, delectable little village with a church, two or three bars and an outstanding restaurant, the Viena, owned by Rainer Fichel from Hamburg. Sa Galera, a former 17thC manor house, is another of its assets. It has been comprehensively restored, but without losing its original character. The rooms are tastefully furnished in country-house style; cosy groups of cane chairs are dotted about the ground floor, inviting you to pause. Bathrooms are in country style with good use of contrasting tile colours. Paintings by local artists are hung throughout the hotel, including some by locally recognized names such as Bernardi Roig, Pep Coll and Antonio Salamanca. The food is excellent, based on the freshest of ingredients.
Although the hotel is in Mallorca’s fertile south-east corner, it’s curious that not much farming goes on hereabouts.
