The Place
From Soller the road snakes towards Deia, bringing you to the recently opened former manor house of Son Bleda. It was love at first sight for the two German owners when they set their eyes on this semi-ruin on a country road, with its incomparable view. They embarked on its restoration with a gusto that subsequently threatened to desert them, but now they can be proud of their persistence. Magnificent vases, a little fountain and thick old stone walls enliven the entrance. The cool, dark lobby is an inviting place in which to linger during hot weather. In winter, the breakfast (which is prepared by the owners personally) is served here in the lobby. In the summer it is served on the large terrace with beautiful mountain views.
Rooms are in a ‘modern rustic style’, all different, with well-chosen antiques making useful statements here and there. Guests can relax by the poolside, enjoying views across the Deia coast, and perhaps even an therapeutic massage.
