The Place
These three old stone houses were bought a few years ago by a family sick of the rat race. They set about restoring and transforming them into a small apart-hotel that would, as they put it ‘be somewhere we’d like to holiday ourselves.’
They’ve more than succeeded: the houses have been beautifully restored and stylishly decorated. Rooms have soft carpets, shining wooden floors and exposed beams. Beds have pretty headboards, sofas are plump and squishy. Two of the houses offer rooms with large living areas, whilst the other is designed for ‘outdoor people’. Doors there open directly out onto the gardens, which are teeming with flowers.
A courtyard cafe, filled with smart red and green chairs, serves breakfast and lunches.
